Our Purpose
At Vested Urban Farms, we believe everyone deserves access to local, fresh, and nutritious produce year-round. When you partner with us to purchase residential Tower Gardens or build commercial Tower Farms, we can reduce carbon footprints, employ local people, and produce chemical-free produce that tastes great, is extraordinarily fresh, and is highly nutritious! We are always looking to work with people who love plants and have the same passion that we do for advancing sustainable urban agriculture.
What Are Aeroponic
Tower Gardens?
The patented vertical aeroponic Tower Garden® technology is made from superior quality materials. The plastic is FDA food grade compliant and free of harmful components.
Tower Gardens are designed for decades of residential and commercial use in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
Seeds for the Tower Garden are initially sown in environmentally friendly rock fiber seeding cubes. These cubes provide an ideal starting medium, promoting efficient germination. After the seeds have successfully germinated, the seedlings are exposed to full, uninterrupted light for a period of one to two weeks. This crucial phase allows the young plants to strengthen and develop into vigorous seedlings, fully prepared for their next stage of growth in the Tower Garden.
The foundation of the Tower Garden is equipped with a 15 or 25-gallon reservoir, designed to store the aeroponic Power-Gro ionic mineral nutrient solution. This solution is key to the system, providing essential minerals and nutrients required for optimal plant health and growth.
Within the reservoir, a small, energy-efficient submersible pump operates on a timer. This pump is responsible for transporting the nutrient solution upward, moving it through the central column of each pot to the very top of the Tower Garden. Here, a specially designed distribution device ensures that the nutrient solution is evenly dispersed, showering over the plant roots in a gentle cascade.
As the nutrient solution makes its descent down the tower, it performs multiple functions. It delivers vital nutrients directly to the roots of the plants, while simultaneously becoming highly oxygenated due to the natural tumbling action caused by gravity. This oxygenation process is crucial, as it enhances the absorption of nutrients by the plant roots.
This efficient cycle of feeding and oxygenation is repeated perpetually, providing the plants with a fresh supply of oxygen, water, and nutrients. This continuous refreshment is essential for maintaining the health and productivity of the plants within the Tower Garden, ensuring they thrive and produce abundantly. Timer-controlled LED lights provide supplemental light when growing indoors.
Because of the design of the Tower Garden® system, the plants use 5% of the water, 10% of the land, and give 10X the yield of traditional in-ground, soil-based farming.
